Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

The client:

My client based in Birmingham is a World Class manufacturer of interior components for the Automotive sector.

The Role:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is specifically focused on Production and People Management and will hold the following principal responsibilities;

  • Required to work closely with the Process Leader and be capable of covering the area when required
  • Ensure all manufactured/assembled parts are produced as per the OPC.  Validate that the process is correct and insured visual aids and checking fixtures are in place in order to maintain consistency of good quality parts
  • Ensure “FIRST OFFS” are signed off at the start of every production run
  • Required to have working knowledge of the process operation being followed
  • Management of non-conforming products by raising relevant documents and informing Quality of any non-conforming materials
  • Assist management with absence control by completion, in a timely manner, of return to work forms, etc
  • Expected to carry out informal counseling’s, and ensure employee compliance with Company rules (eg break times)
  • Assist Management with budget control
  • Consumables (PPE) control
  • Communicate Health & Safety, and Quality concerns as a brief to teams, together with communicating the weekly brief
  • Have a good understanding of the need for continuous improvement activities
  • Responsible for data recording (production/scrap/OEE sheets) – relating to manufacturing in accordance with current systems
  • Ensure housekeeping is up to required standard following the companies 5s philosophy
  • Comply with TS16949 and ISO14001 policies

Hours of work:

  • Various shift patterns depending on work area, all applicants must be flexible to support our customer demand.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Previous knowledge of a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry
  • Good standard of education and Microsoft IT packages
  • Understanding of safe practices Aptitude for attention for detail and product quality
  • Willing to learn and undertake further training as when required
